ahoy-matey-bdaypalooza-bew.jpgHere is another B-day Pa Looza cad. So easy!

I used the Ahoy Matey set and the base is Kraft cardstock. The pirate is stamped onto Naturals Ivory and sponged around the edges, as are the Always Artichoke pieces on the front. A little bit of hemp adds some texture to the front.

easy-peasy!

enjoy-every-moment-bday-palooza-girl-bew.jpgThis is the “little girl” card I made for my Birthday-Pa-Looza Stamp a Stack. It uses the Enjoy Every Moment set and matching daisy jumbo wheel. Right now you can get that wheel FREE when you purchase the sey, along with 5 other set/wheel combinations!

This is a pull-out card. The 5 1/2 x 11″ base is folded in half and sealed so that only one side is open and the pink base gets pulled out for your message. The “enjoy” is stamped in Celery craft ink, and embossed in clear. I used the 3 flower punch from the Punch Box to create the matching flowers, and added some purple fine cosmo glitter to the centers to make it POP! Finally I added a piece of wide grosgrain ribbon to make it all come together as the pull-out tag.

enjoy-every-moment-black-polka-dots-bew.jpgHere is another sample using the Enjoy Every Moment set-this was inspired by Laurie Schmidlin’s card which can be seen here: http://justgivemestamps.typepad.com/my_weblog/2008/03/a-little-bit-fu.html

We made this at my downline meeting this month. I really liked the way she used a black on black layer and loved the circles, but I wanted to make it a bit more springy. I started with a 6×6 square piece of cardstcok folded to a 3×6″ card. I layered another black piece on there and popped it up with dimensionals. The circles are 1 1/4″ punches from Apricot and Celery paper that I pieced around to make it a bit whimsical (great way to use up scraps!). I finished it off by embossing the “enjoy” and adding a touch polka dots in Apricot in the background to brighten up the main sentiment. I added a bit of wide Celery and Vanilla grosgrain ribbon to finish it off.

I have a Stamp a Stack this Sunday so I will have a sneak peek tomorrow of one of the 5 cards we are making.

enjoy-every-moment-in-color-bew.jpgThis card was made using the set Enjoy Every Moment. Right now it is on special-so if you buy it you get the mathcing daisies and dashes wheel for FREE! This was one of 3 cards we made at my downline meeting last week. It is a simple and easy card to make. I started with a 4 1/4″ square card base in Blue Bayou, and stamped the “enjoy” in Pomegranate. The scallop is 2 punches layered, and the scallop border is made using the corner rounder punch without the guide. I added a few dots of the rose red glitter that is in the Cosmo glitter pack (which I *love*) for a touch of shimmer. Pomegranate stitched ribbon completes the easy and quick card.

If you want to try this set out for yourself, you can sign up for my “Wheely Fun” stamp camp which will feature products from the set and matching wheel special. Check out my website   www.brittastamps.stampinup.net   for details!

phoebe-st-patricks-day.jpgAre you wearing green? Here is my little leprechaun enjoying her ginormous bow and green beads in honor of her Irish Roots, LOL.

peek-a-boo-card-bew.jpgThis little card is a simple peek-a-boo card made with a strip of 4×12″ Banana paper scored at 4″ and 8″.

I used my circle punches and scallop punches to create “donut” windows that can be seen as the card opens. I like that the Lots of Thoughts sayings fit inside the circle punches. This was a pretty quick card to put together once I sorted out which punches to use!

Have a great day!

Last Sunday I held a Stamp Camp here and had a great time using the Embrace Life set. Each participant made 3 cards, 1 frame, 1 photo wallet, and got the Embrace Life set to use as part of the camp. It turned out GREAT (if I say so myself)!

Here are the 3 cards. Each one was CASEd and modified from cards I saw on SCS.

embrace-life-dsp-bg-bew.jpgThe 1st one was a modification from JanTink on SCS. I loved her idea of using the bg designer paper panel as a major element. My card is a 5×10″ square and after coloring in the blossoms we used Crystal Effects to highlight them.

embrace-life-tall-card-bew.jpgThe next was a steal from Kharmagirl on SCS. I loved her idea of the squares and circles. I changed mine to make it a tall card that would fit in a  business sized envelope, and had 4 squares rather than 3. We also added the blossoms on the right with the rhinestone brads.

embrace-life-definition-care-bew.jpgThe last card was a CASE from Nitetime Stamper. I added a silk flower from the Pretties kit, and a build a brad to the center.

I am doing a class in March using the set Embrace Life where everyone gets the set as part of the class fee, plus a 1/2 pack of Ginger Blossoms paper, and makes 5 projects-3 cards, a photo wallet, and a frame. I am still playing around with the layouts for the cards so I am using this set a lot!

(if you want to see my schedule of events you can see my SU! site www.brittastamps.stampinup.net )

For this sketch I used the small blossom buch and long stems from Embrace Life. All were colored in using Aquapainters and re-inkers. After coloring them in lightly, I used an Apricot marker to color in some of the sides to add a bit more depth to the flowers. The horizontal strip that goes along the back is Ginger Blossom paper. I stamped the blossom cluster repeatedly around the bg piece-I love how it makes it look like a background stamp!

The stemmed blossoms had Crystal Effects added on on 2 coats to give them nice thick dimension.

The following are cards for the Stamp a Stack I held yesterday. 10 cards for $20 to cover a variety of occasions.

Baby cards (1 of each)

just-b-baby-cards-sas-bew.jpg These use the set Just B. I used Versamark and pastels to color in the B to change it for a boy or girl. The new Bashful Blue striped ribbon adds a fun touch to the boy’s card, and the pink Tafetta ribbon is perfect for a sweet girl.

With Valentine’s Day around the corner, here is a little card ready to go. The little mouse is from Happy Heart Day and the designer paper is Ginger Blossom DSP. I will be using this paper at my “Embrace Life” stamp Camp on Sunday, March 2nd.

Sending a note to a friend to let them know you care is always a good idea!

all-holidays-sas-bew.jpg

We used the “All Holidays” set and paired it with Berry Bliss designer paper, and Pomegranate and Cocoa cardstock. A few touches of the new SU! glitter in Rose Red finish it off.

a-little-birdie-told-me-sas-bew.jpg

This card is a “card on card” and opens at the vanilla layer. Layers of Soft Sky and Blue Bayou match the fun double stitched ribbon. I LOVE this set-this is a wonderful set to use if you want to make “just in case” cards. You can do all the fronts and then stamp the inside with the “ending” you need!

The SU! idea book is not just a catalog, but a good resource! I loved the layout on page 144 and based my wedding/anniversary card on the sample.

baroque-motifs-sas-wedding.jpg The “love” and “cherish” are stamped in versamark and embossed with gold powder. Colors are a bit off in the pic-they are really Mellow Moss and Groovy Guava with coordinating ribbon along the side.

Thanks to all that attended!

Here are 2 samples we made at my clubs last week using the set Happy Heart Day from SU!

happy-heart-day-elephant-thank-you-baby-wipe-bew.jpg

The elephant is a sweet little 4 1/4″ square card with a Celery base. Look closely at the bg flowers-we stamped those using the baby wipe technique. Take a baby wipe and drop a few drops of reinkers on it and you can use that as your pad. Here I used Celery, Apricot, and Lavender for a springy feel!

Main elephant image is on shimmer white, colored in with markers and a little dazzling diamonds added for some shine.

happy-heart-day-mm-baggie.jpg

The next project is an m&m holder made using a cellophane bag. 3 of the mini m&m tubes fit right inside. Fold over and hold closed with a dimensional. The square tag on the front is layered Rose Romance, River Rock, and Vanilla. I stamped the little mouse on teh vanilla as well as on a piece of designer paper. I cut out the heart part from the dsp and glued it on so that the heart has a nice pattern. Highlighted with my white gel pen and added a ribbon tab *rose and river rock grosgrain).

I thought these little bags were fun because you could easily mail them with a little bubble wrap around them-a fun way to deliver a little Valentine’s Day love to someone far away!

crab-company-sandy-claws-bew.jpg

This is one of the cards my stampers made at my holiday Stamp a Stack. It uses Crab & Company and the funny phrase “Sandy Claws” that goes with it. Our state saying is “MD is for crabs”

Does that make any sense to you? Me either! But it is what it is-and our crabs ARE the yummiest-so I decided to go with it!

Stamps: Crab & Company

Paper: Real Red (4 1/4″ square card), Dashing, Confetti Ivory

Ink: StazOn, Real Red, Certainly Celery

Accessories: White Gel Pen, Wiggly Eyes, Dazzling Diamonds glitter

Happy Holidays from us in MD!
