Ok-so you have been warned ;)

Some of my downline and I are doing a weekly card exchange. I am using a challenge card I made on SCS for this week’s card based on a card in “Atomic Butterfly’s” gallery. It uses the items from the March special from SU!

The petals wheel (for background), the Petals designer paper, and the Polka Dots & Paisley stamp set. If you purchase all 3 in March you can also choose anything from the SU! Spring Mini for 1/2 price-woohoo!

The square 4 1/4″ card has cardstock vellum layered over the designer paper. It is pierced all around-something I could not do without my peircing mat in the Crafter’s Tool Kit!  I love cardstock vellum because it is thick and seems to be better suited to stamp amd emboss on than the regular vellum.

The photo corner is made by using the 3/4″ square punch and then punching over it using a 1 1/4″ square punch. Cut in half and VOILA! you have a photo corner.

The joke among my downline is that we are all glitter crazy-so of course I had to include glitter on the card. I will take a pic of the cards I receive by the end of the week and upload those so you can see all of them-can’t wait (I love getting stamped mail, LOL)

I just finished and mailed out swaps for a Spring Mini Swap-phew!

I love the new SU Spring Mini-not only the cool sets-but the accessories (like the file tab punch and the spiral punch). Plus the designer papers are 2 sided-which I totally dig!

To see the Spring Mini click the PDF file below: (if you wish to receive one, please e-mail me at brittastamps@yahoo.com)

Here are pics of my completed swaps-they will be in my gallery at Splitcoast once the swaps are all “swapped” out.

For this one I wanted to show both sides of the patterned paper as they showed us at Leadership in Houston. I saw Jenn Balcer use a window sheet on an adorable sample and decided to use vellum on mine to give the bg paper (which can be pretty bright in Turquoise and Olive) a softer look. From the inside you can see the opposite side of the patterned paper.

Here is a cool mini scrapbook album they also highlighted at Leadership:

It Uses the “Long Notes” from the Spring Mini. 12×12 paper is wheeled in the middle and cut in half so the end of each page insert shows the wheeled edge. I used brads to keep the book together, but you could also use ribbon to bind it. They even come with envelopes so those are wheeled as well. Of course my fave new punch-the rounded file tab punch-was used with “remember” stamped in Saffron. Hard to see in the pic!

And my last card for the swap used the Notations paper also from the Spring Mini. The color combo in that pack is Celery, Banana/Saffron, and Close to Cocoa. Some 12×12 sheets have an all-over design, while some can be cut apart and used for different elements-very cool!

I decided to NOT use the same color combo from the pack and instead chose a celery grid sheet. I pulled out SU Prep School Ribbon pack and used the color combo there. The card I made ended up being masculine-which I was happy about because masculine cards are the trickiest for me to come up with! The set is Office Accoutrements which coordinates with the Notations paper. The main image has a little chart where you can fill in the month, day, and year to personalize for the receiver’s b-day (or anniversary-or any other date that is special!).

I can’t wait to get the swaps back and see what else folks came up with from this mini!
